Child Custody Mediation
(Referred to as Child Custody Recommending Counseling)
This is a process in which a neutral, third-party assists the parents to create a parenting plan for their children. Mediation can be either confidential or non-confidential. I am skilled in providing either type of mediation. This service may be highly beneficial for divorcing parents in that they can be proactive in designing a workable and appropriate plan for their post-divorce relationship and for co-parenting their children. An emphasis is placed on what would be in the best interests of the children.
To begin Child Custody Recommending Counseling (CCRC) I will need a Court Order or signed Stipulation that has been filed with the Court. This is usually sent by your attorney, but is also accepted by parents representing themselves. One or both parents may call to make the first appointment and I usually require whichever parent makes the first appointment to contact and inform the other parent. If there are extenuating circumstances regarding this issue, please let me know. Children are not to be brought to the first appointment unless requested. Questions and information about the CCRC process will be discussed during the first appointment, however, you also may call with any questions.
I require a retainer of $2000.00 to be paid at the first session. This is to be held aside for any work I do outside of your presence or for payment towards the final report. In addition, all appointments are paid at the time of the session at a rate of $175.00 per hour.
